This is my fourth time that I have gone through the ChristLife Program at my Parish of St. Rita, Webster NY. It has been a journey with a sense of increasing growth and closeness with Jesus each time. This first part is called Discovering Christ. The next part Following Christ starts next January. I can’t wait for it!
All my life, my faith has been a never-ending roller coaster ride. I grow deeper in my relationship with God with each up and down motion.
Once I think I am on the right track… My rollercoaster car takes a side detour along a track that leads to a dark tunnel leaving God behind. I turn my back to see where the detour started, and I see God is still on my trail outside the tunnel – waiting for me…
Suddenly, I find that the bumpy ride which makes me sway side to side is coming to a sharp curve up ahead, and I question myself where is this going? The curve reveals a light at the end of the tunnel.
The light gets nearer and nearer… larger and larger! Suddenly my eyes blink when I come out of the tunnel. It’s broad daylight, and I am on the main track going towards God again! The ChristLife Program is the sharp curve up ahead in which I run into and get my car back on track to God – literally!
Discovering Christ
Following Christ
Sharing Christ
Every time I go through the 3-part sessions, the experience is unique!
Different activities impact my knowledge of Christ each time. I am always having numerous WOW moments! It never gets old or boring. Not if you are open to what God has to say. I love to share the awesomeness of God in my Life with others. It fills me with joy!
I have noticed key moments in the last few years that indicate that my mission is simply to share my life and how God’s presence has led me to who I am today. The ChristLife Program has had a big influence on me. It is where I found God’s embrace. And, when I share stories through my blog, it’s as if I’m sharing His embrace, His love and the Joy that comes from God! God can be found in the big things and in the most insignificant details. In fact, that’s where He is more easily found. But it will only happen if we let it him.
These are keywords that come to mind when I think about the ChristLife Program.
- The importance of Scripture in understanding Christ.
- The Power of the Holy Spirit should be constantly invoked to avoid hesitancy.
- A personal relationship with Jesus is essentially created through Scripture/ Holy Spirit/ Community.
The above 3 aspects are what we are called to do: to put them into action in our lives! They are also three puzzle pieces to my faith. (See Why Read my Blog?) The more I do this, the more able I am to appreciate the presence of God in my life and in the lives of others. The roller coaster journey continues until the end..
Some say that with practice our prayers connect us with the Holy Spirit. With this bond, he will guide us to live according to the teachings of Jesus. Alas, I’m not there yet! Don’t get me wrong, I know that at some point I’ll get there. It’s just that this lifetime puzzle journey of a rollercoaster will be completed in the afterlife. When, with my very last breath, God is waiting for me at the end of the ride with open arms!
How has your journey of faith been? It will be an honor for me to have you share your experiences! Each person’s journey is unique and we can learn from each other.
Thank you! You reminded me how important it is to know he’s always here with me!
By living a full life, with all that goes on everyday, I can forget that God loves and cares for me. I still struggle to read scripture and meditate everyday to connect with Him. But when I do, what a beautiful experience I have!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Our faith and life in general is like this roller coaster. It’s awesome we can have adventures in our faith and draw close to God.
The great thing is that no matter how far we fall away from God or how many times, He will always be there to love and comfort us!
Good day! I simply want to offer you a big thumbs up for the excellent info youve got right here on this post. Ill be coming back to your site for more soon.
