Farmer’s Market Webster, NY

Posted on August 4, 2021August 4, 2021 by Emily R

Farmer’s markets have always been popular! Though I did not grow up going to them, I went to one this past Saturday the first of August 2021 as a volunteer for the ChristLife Kiosk of my parish.

I thought a farmer’s market was only farm goods. But I found out that it can include artisans with their crafts. It can also include live country music. The funny thing is that if I had not volunteered to help out at the ChristLife kiosk, I might have missed it. What was I going to miss? The great people who were there: vendors and visitors!

Fiddlers of the Genesee

After I arrived, I greeted the other volunteers: Marie, Tom, Jane, and Maurini. Right away music reached my ears. This was going to be fun! One of the volunteers for the ChristLife kiosk said there was live country music playing further down. They suggested I go see the venue.

I loved it! My foot started tapping the ground. I had to get a video to show my husband Dio who was working. We both love string instruments. Then I noticed on their promotion table CDs of the Fiddler’s music being played live. Of course, I bought one so we can enjoy it at home. In fact, as soon as Dio came home, I played the CD and our spirits soared with the music.

Meet Em, just like me, Em

Walking back to the ChristLife Kiosk, I noticed Em’s Bakery and her cinnamon rolls. I wondered if Em stood for Emily like me. So, I walked over to her and indeed – another Emily! We talked a bit.

Em was selling cinnamon buns and a few strawberry ones. I mentioned I was officially declared diabetic a few months ago. I decided not to buy a bun to avoid any temptation.

Crafts By Julie Brown

Across the ChristLife kiosk, there was a handmade crafts table by Julie Brown. I saw there were already some Fall themed items beautifully sewn stuffed items such as: pumpkins, pumpkin head dolls and cute stuffed carrots! During the Pandemic and isolation, Julie decided to dedicate herself to the craft she loves to make and sell.

Kat’s Kustom Karry Alls

I kept walking and found Kat’s Kustom Karry-Alls. There were all sorts of handbags and mini purses handcrafted by Kathy. I admired how the colors popped at her table.

David Schoff Woodcrafting

Next stop, David Schoff who is a master of his woodcrafts. My favorite piece was the wooden apple checkers set. The play tokens are small apples and mini washers are used to put on the stem of the apple to be “crowned king” or in this case – “ring the king”!

Syrup A LaRue
Business cards of the vendors visited

The last vendor I visited was Morgan from the Syrup A’ LaRue kiosk. There were all sorts of syrups: maple blueberry, hickory, maple cinnamon among others.

Every Saturday you can find the Syrup A’ LaRue and the others mentioned.

Here we are at the ChristLife Kiosk!

Oh! Did I do anything for the ChristLife Kiosk? Weelll…!

I did help with bringing down the tarp and frame. I also took a couple of pictures of the kiosk. I promise to do more next time!

You know, with this experience, I keep seeing how God leads us to new situations with new people even when we are not looking for it! I certainly didn’t expect it.

Each day, God constantly adds more pieces to my puzzle journey. Sometimes I can’t catch up. Some of my pieces have taken years to finally make their presence felt. That’s why I continue my life journey of discovering myself and fitting it all together! (See About Me, Why Read My Blog?)

Join me on the journey. What pieces of your life has surfaced as time has passed and made you aware of why you are who you are? I would love to read about it!
